Defense of the Ancients | The Basics

Written on Aug 10, 2008 // Entertainment, Online Games, What's Up?.

Hi friends! Shocked? Heheheh, I suppose. Hmmm… Actually I just started to learn playing DotA. It was quite exciting and amazing. Actually, I was at my classmates’ boarding house, Egon, together with my other class mate Jay for our project making, but unfortunately we couldn’t start coding since Cold Fusion server and Microsoft SQL Server 2000 didn’t met up during database connection/installation and so we’ve decided to abandon it. And so got an idea of placing up a virtual server using wireless LAN and somehow try to play DotA. And hey , it perfectly works. And so, I joined the game, 2 vs. 1.

So guys here’s what I’ve learned during the 2 unfinished round games,

Basically its main objective is simply to destroy the opposing teams’ Ancient or what they usually called the base camp. So as the game starts you may have choose to be a Hero or a random select character. Next thing to do is to buy some stuff like items, weapons, and also skills (am I right? or it is acquired?). Sentinel and Scourge are the characters involved during the game. Each barracks do have number of creeps that block the opponent from attacking and it was placed towards the opponents side. And lastly each creeps killed will earn you up experience and extra gold coins.

Ok… That’s what I’ve learned in our 45 mins game just this evening. And maybe soon, I’ll be visible on GG Client server (char!) together with my beloved dota enthusiasts classmates. :D
