In Good Times or In Bad Times

After being married to Irma (Jessica Lange) for 25 years, Roy (Tom Wilkinson) decides the stress of being a woman in a man’s body has grown intolerable. He unburdens himself to Irma and their pastor, shocking them both. Roy’s decision to pursue a sex-change operation is greeted with intolerance and disgust by some of his co-workers and members of his church. Irma eventually comes to some understanding, and supports Roy through his journey to becoming “Ruth.”

Huh? That was my first reaction as I got to hear that he wanted to have his sexual organ to female. Isn’t it very disgusting? For my own opinion, it’s okay to be gay for as long as they do have respect to themselves especially the vital parts of the body. This may seem to violate our Christian morality since our body is the church or the temple of our soul. Basically the movie is somehow interesting especially for Roy who happens to be a good father of 2 children, and also a good provider. I was then surprised with the reaction of his wife, Irma, understand in spite of his husbands’ decision but at first wasn’t happy but later to realize that he is still her husband no matter what. This could really prove the commitment they’ve promised in front of the altar, in good times and in bad times, during their matrimonial celebration. Roy was a bit so wrong and brave. Wrong to fact that after 25 years, he just made a decision that would not be acceptable (in the first place) with his family, but in spite of this incident he happens to be brave since he really project and apply of what he wants to be regardless of the reaction of the environment (people) to him.

In general, this movie could somehow be categorized as funny and inspirational. Funny because of the incident, since Roy after 25 years together with his wife, of sacrifice and hard ship he boomed up and later one day announce to the world that he was born to be a woman regardless of his physical look. Inspirational since the movie expounded support and sacrifices of Roy’s family regardless of his personal decision of transforming to become a woman. It really tested the patience of each member of the family. And yet normal is a material or a film that could somehow inspire and relate to these concerned citizens and could help them understand of what they are doing and what would be its effects (psychologically) to their colleagues, friends, and especially to their own family.

NAIA Terminal 3 Goes International

No Comment // Written on Jul 26, 2008 // Community Service, News, What's Up?

After a few years of wait, was about 6 years, NAIA 3 (Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3) had successfully operated its domestic and or local flight as also participated by local airline carriers like Air Philippines, Philippine Airline, and Cebu Pacific Airlines, last February 2008.

Just yesterday, the officials of the said airport they’ll be opening up slots for international flights. This will able to use the latest installed ficilities offered by NAIA Terminal 3.

As said by the president of the Philippines, Gloria Arroyo, that this is the proof of the governments’ resolve and determination to move forward.

Defensor said Cebu Pacific assured him that by Aug. 8, it would operate one or two international flights out of the terminal and slowly increase the flights until the NAIA 3 can fully operate for international flights by February next year.

The transfer of the two airlines, particularly Air Philippines, was a bigger test for the facility since it entailed the activation of the terminal’s long-unused aerobridge machines.

It was learned that Air Philippines’ flights will use Boeing B737 aircraft that will load and unload passengers via the aerobridge to get into the terminal’s arrival area.

The final partial opening of NAIA-3 this week comes after a couple of failed “soft openings” set by MIAA in 2006 and 2007 after government’s payment of a P3-billion downpayment to the builder of the terminal, the Philippine International Air Terminals Co. (Piatco) in 2006 as expropriation of the facility.

But yet, there still some things to be done and reformed since the FAA (Federal Aviation Authority) had downgraded the Philippines from a Category I to a Category II on its compliance with international aviation safety standards, citing some deficiencies in the ATO’s manpower and systems that prevent it from properly auditing local aviation entities.

The said downgrade could prevent or limit some slots on some international flights like in United States.

The Open Cetification | How? When? Why?

No Comment // Written on Jul 26, 2008 // Computer Networking, Computers, People, School, What's Up?

How?

Basically, a certificate is needed upon applying on such companies especially on computer or internet based companies.. A certification maybe acquired on such online learning programs like CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) program. The said extension program is offered to all participants who’d like to undergo an online based training on networking basics and such the like. The program is subdivided into 4 semesters forming up different levels. Level 1 would probably the basics of networking. Level 2 would cover an introduction to routers and different categories under the topic. Level 3 which include a laboratory, basically in partnership with legitimate schools, colleges, and universities. Level 4 covers a general review on the 3 level acquired and of course each semester, an eligible student is given a certificate.

When?

As much as possible, it’ll be great if you’ve gone the training as early as now.

The World Population

I guess this issue would never end since a lot of babies are born every minute and every hour, seven days a week, 365 days a year. I could still remember, way back when I was 15, I was reading a news a paper from a local broadsheet stating that there are about or most likely close to 5 million babies are born that day. Whew! whatta number of babies, ayt? Oh I guess we consider the number of people who died that day, since it wasn’t publish but still the number of babies are quite a big number.

There have been a question to each and every individual like me, is the world really populated? As for my own understanding, we are not. Why? I guess the world is so big and large. There are still some place who are yet vacant like the high lands. They’re saying that we are populated since they based it on their population (I mean their local community population). The problem is what our facing today is not really population but expansion. People are conscious that we are populated but infact we’re not, mid land as well as high lands in your area are still unoccupied.

Expansion needs a bit of money, time, and effort. Since the local government would somehow expand like the streets for a better and larger accessiblity. But I guess this would the the solution of the problem as of now. We can’t do anything about it since its there and we cannot stop these pregnant women to born their child. And it would be so harsh to kill all new born babies, its against the will of our own conscience.
