Identical IP’s | Is this Possible?
Written on Mar 01, 2008 // Computer Networking, Computers, Strange Stuffs, Web and Internet.A few hours ago, I got a comment to moderate for the post, Google Page Rank Update, and so I was expecting a new visitor, since my blog always prompt for moderation when a new unique IP (Internet Protocol) detected. And so I did open the comments to moderate tab under the the Comments menu on my wordpress software installed under my public_html folder.
And the comment IP is the same as with my classmate, Keith John. I
Take note of the IP, by this time I am alarmed not by his comment but by his IP. That IP looks like familiar to me. And for you information, Smart Broadband Inc., uses the following prefixes in their line of IP’s, 125.60.240.XXX. And so I did sent my classmate a text message to his cellphone about the comment. As soon as he got online at Yahoo! Messenger. We talked about these incident.
Now, I’d like to know, why this occurs and is this really possible?

Mar 01, 2008, 4:27 pmIf your ISP is SmartBro, under ka sa network nila. Which is yung 125.60.240.XXX, under ka na network na yun. 125.60.240.XXX will fetch all your request for you. So most likely, hindi expose yung LAN IP mo outside that network.
Hindi pwede my kaparehong IP in public and private networks.

This antenna serves as their wireless network adapter to adapt signals from the base station. Kaya identical ang mga IPs ng mga smartbro subscriber na na-belong sa isang subnetwork nila.

Mar 01, 2008, 11:41 pmIt is possible.
Smart doesn’t give its subscribers public IPs. So, people connected to the same base station can share the same IP.

Mar 01, 2008, 11:17 pmYup. I just figured out that users sharing the same base station also have the same ip. So, “AKo unta si president” UI is also my neighbor. Sino kaya? haha!
